When is happy hour?
One of our favorite, locally-owned Georgetown restaurants! Galvin's has a great beer list with many local breweries that rotates seasonally, as well as a good selection of bourbon and seasonal cocktails, look for those on the wall near the bar. I ordered a cheeseburger with their housemade beer cheese and jalepenos, off menu but just tell them what you want and they will do it. They have pizzas, sandwiches, salads, cheesesteaks, lots of appetizers. This is the place in town to go on game nights and there is usually a long wait on weekends to get there early.
MoreSome places only have a few good dishes. Not Galvin’s! Everything on the menu is delicious! Great customer service and an awesome experience whether it’s date night or lunch with the family. Galvin’s is absolutely one of my favorites!
MoreGalvin's has always been great. They handled our large party (about 13 people) very professionally. Everyone had drinks refilled promptly and the waitress was very nice.
MoreYummy as usual, am a frequent flyer but took a newbie there today. He's even pickier than me....the owner of the top BNB in Lexington, servings were so generous he took half home. He had to double check the bill, he couldn't believe the low cost for such high value. He's used to Hotsie totsie expensive Lexington restaurants. Service was kind, thoughtful and professional. COVID safe to the letter.
MoreWe ate at the bar and had great service from Chris. Their Bloody Marys were delicious. I had the chicken wrap which was very good. Looking at what others in our party ordered, I would say that their portions were more than enough.
MoreExcellent! Well done. Cheesecake is homemade. Wow!
Our server (Casey?) Was great. Super accommodating and friendly. The Spinach and sun dried tomato flatbread I ordered... not as friendly. It was an odd combo of a mystery cheese (far too salty to be standard mozz), frozen spinach with no seasoning, and tomatoes tasted that as though they were thrown on top after it had been cooked. They were cold and, well, weird. Our server was kind and brought another dish to take home. She makes the third star. I want to like this place but my experience wasn't enough. I don't doubt they do some things really well, my pizza just wasn't it.
Morefood priced very fair and large portions... Everything is pretty good on the menu... Parking is horrible!! Sometimes the service is a 10 then others it'll be sub par... The pizza is the same, half the time its the best around then others seems like half effort to make and sat around for a bit before bring served so you just never know and that's why I gave it a 4 star review. The bar is average size and good there is a good amount of table top seating to watch UK, separate rooms for parties and the general seating area good size with plenty of booths.... February 2019 visit, meatball sub is solid, Philly cheese steak says " authentic "... This one had more shrooms than meat plus no cheese, my wife and I were very let down...bang bang shrimp was good though
MoreThis place is really cool inside. Great atmosphere, better service and the food of course is definitely good. Casey is one hell of a server! Try the jalapeno poppers eggplant parmesan sandwich! I highly recommend this spot 😎🤟👍
MoreThe service was excellent, the food was nice.
This is a very large restaurant in scenic downtown Georgetown. It has an nice inviting warm atmosphere with a good variety of seating choices. They have a highly popular trivia night every Wednesday starting at 7 o'clock, and they have really good food that's not too expensive.
MoreGreat food, great staff, affordable prices
First time ever visiting and was very impressed. I had the philly cheese steak, onion rings, potato poppers, and COKE 0. Everything was very tasty and so much more on the menu looked to be enticing so I'll have to get back there soon!!!
MoreWe enjoyed the craft beers. the pepperoni Stromboli, and great staff.
Great food and beer. I've never had a negative experience at this place. The parking leaves a little to be desired, but being down town you couldn't ask for much better.
MoreThe place isn't very noticeable passing by and it's difficult to find a parking spot but the food was great would definitely return.
MoreOne of top options in Georgetown. Been going for years and is very consistent. Menu is typical American fare. Salads are large and tasty. Good beer selection including local breweries. While there are many options on the menu and all are good, after many years would like to see them offer some new items or even specials.
MoreThis was my first time patronizing this establishment, but it will not be my last! Our server TAYLOR W was very friendly, outgoing, attentive and gave EXCELLENT recommendations for what to eat. Food came out nice and hot and was very flavorful. We got different appetizers to share: spinach and artichoke dip, buffalo chicken dip, and fried shrimp. Fantastic. Can't wait to go back.
MoreLet me see where should I start.. the last time I went to Galvin's, me and my husband had the most awesome experience! The girls there smiled at our entering. They directed us to where we needed to order. And we ordered our favorite Chicken Tortilla Soup. It is our go to! I swear that place all it needs now is a roof access to dine on the roof hahaha!!
MoreThis is right in downtown of Georgetown, KY. Very friendly waitress. Food is good, portion is good size, price is reasonable!
MoreBest cheese fries I've had. I look forward to trying the rest of the menu.
The waitress was amazing, and the jalapeño poppers are to die for.
Food was excellent pricing was excellent wish it was closer to us
Great food, 40 beers on tap, great staff. Love going here.
The burger was really good, had a lot of ingredients and taste but not a horrible mess like some places. Fries had more salt than you should eat in a month. Very friendly staff, and decent price for the area. $15 + tip for burger and a pop.
MoreI had a Philly cheese steak and it very good and my wife had the fried chicken salad that she liked a lot. For us it is a do again.
MoreWe've been numerous times and every single occasion is great.
Great hometown restaurant that has so many positives. A great place to watch any sporting event with a hyped atmosphere and wonderful crowd. The food here is not your typical frozen food cooked and served at the bar. It's fresh. The potato and jalapeno poppers are to die for. Burgers and pizza are one of my favorite.Staff will have you feeling like your old friends in no time and the next time you come back (guarantee you will be back) you will probably ask for that server because of how much you liked her from the first visit.Tons of beer on tap, 80% or more are craft brews and local. Great seasonal drinks, many featuring bourbon. This is now one of our staple restaurants. Great for the entire family.
MoreFriendly staff. Knowledgeable too. Great menu options. Cool place for a quick bite or sit at the bar and enjoy.
MoreJalapeno poppers were the best I've ever had. Stromboli was not great - it was more like a toasted sub and the insides were not thoroughly cooked. Steak salad was tasty, but the steak was not cut and came in a deep bowl, making it difficult to eat.
MoreMy first visit to Galvin's was really good. I had the Gertrude. It was a half pound patty with chili, jalapenos, beer cheese and French fries. It tasted very good. It was cooked correctly and fairly priced. The onion ring appetizer was crispy and delicious. Obviously fresh. My wife had the roast beef sandwich with homemade chips. The au jus was not overly salty, the beef was tender and juicy. Everything was priced well. The facilities were clean amd the staff was friendly. Parking is not great, but that happens. Street parking in front is best, but there is more parking behind the building and up and down the street. We will be back!
MoreFood is tasty, and my wife's house salad was fresh. Less expensive than Panera.
What a great restaurant! Jalapeno poppers are phenomenal! Food was nice and hot Stromboli is very good. Nice wait staff.
MoreGreat service and great Philly chicken steak. The appetizer we ordered was much bigger than expected. I think we got the potato skins.
MoreThis past Tuesday, our group of 12 called Gavin’s asking if we needed reservations for dinner that evening. We were told they did not take reservations but we would have no problem being seated. We arrived and were told seating would take an hour. Along the edge of the dining room, there is an enclave with a table that can seat at least twenty. We asked if we could sit there and were told it is for “private parties by reservation only and at least 15 required”. The hostess then told us if we would have called in and reserved that room and said 15, then came with 12 and 3 no shows, it would have been fine. We asked if we could speak to the manager. No, but the hostess apparently went to speak to the manager. When she returned, she said since we were only 12, we could not use that enclave. It sat empty. Apparently Gavin’s cares little about individuals. I imagine when the next recession comes they will change their tune or close.
MoreGreat appetizers! First time there. Star Wars trivia.
The items that I've had tasted good. The chips we were served with our spinach and salsa dips we're stale though.
MoreThe food (sandwiches) were very tasty. I recommend the buffetto for something unique. Not being from KY we also needed Ale 8. It was our server who made the experience that much better. She was friendly and attentive.
MoreWe are not locals of Georgetown and Saturday was our first time having Galvin’s. We ordered at the curb and the service was great! Our food was excellent! We are looking forward to coming back.
MoreI don’t come very often because the place is always packed out but came for a birthday celebration and enjoyed myself very much. Servers are out of this world and hostess is friendly and welcoming. But last night experience was off the charts. We got seated at Katelyns table. We were greeted with warm hellos a great big smile and gracious personality. I knew her dad who had passed a few years ago and was able to pray with her and over her and we shed tears of joy of the remembrance of her dad my friend. I know she’s an asset to the restaurant and we’re looking forward to visiting again. Katelyn thank you thank you thank you
MoreThe sandwich and chips I had we're good. They have a pretty good beer selection as well. Even though they were busy it was not overly loud. All the staff seemed to be friendly and engaging but didn't hover.
MoreGood spot to grab a beer and some food. Stopped while passing through and will return if ever in the area again.
MoreFun atmosphere with great food and drinks! Staff is very nice and fun. Highly recommend it if you have a chance.
MoreDo you have the best barbecue chicken pizza on the face of the planet. And I've had pizza in a lot of places.! Great place to watch the game drink a beer and get something good to eat. Nice place to hang out as well with friends. Definitely a place I recommend going to. As well as when friends go to Kentucky.
MoreGreat restaurant that offers vegetarian options on their menu. Not much. Just the veggie burger and the eggplant sandwich at first glance, but still glad to have those options. Service was quick and attentive and prices were very reasonable. I went in on a weekday and the crowd was light. Might be different on a weekend evening. Wish I caught the name of the hostess with the philtrum piercing, super cute.
MoreLove the atmosphere and the food is so good. Always great service.
What a great place. Food was nice and hot. Very tasty. Staff is great. Just love Katelyn G!!
MoreGreat food. Friendly staff. Fried pickles were amazing!
The Black Angus Salad is delicious!
Awesome!! Definitely will be back! Food was great! Staff was awesome!
